Everest, an all-star local quintet whose members sport resumes longer than the intro to “Cortez the Killer,” has signed with Neil Young’s Vapor Records.

The backstory is, of course, that Mr. J. Graves, late of Earlimart and later of Wild Gift, and BFF, is hitting the big time. It’s not every day you get to tell the world about cool shit your friends have achieved. I’m going to take every advantage of it.
