I am convinced that so many like it or think they like it because its long. If its long and its Bruce it must be good or "epic". Leaving aside the irritating "I Was Made For Loving You" issue, I think the problem is that it is simply underwhelming. For whatever storytelling imagery it conjures up (like Stewie Griffin robbing a bank, for example), musically, it completely lacks drama. There is no musical foil, no crescendo,no denouement. For an 8 minute epic, that's a problem no matter how interesting the story may or may not be. You note the added concern that it will replace a couple short slots or one long slot in the set.
